Pickleball Courts at Westwood Play Fields

Pickleball Courts at Westwood Play Fields

Westwood Park Playfield unveiled 12 outdoor pickleball courts to the public last September 9. The city government of Bloomington approved the site plan in 2017 and began the construction of eight permanent and four temporary pickleball courts in early summer of 2018.

Pickleball players nearby Bloomington are encouraged to visit the new facility. Courts at Westwood Park are open to the public and free of charge. Southwest Metro Pickleball Club, which is one of the proponents of the project, plans to hold a number of tournaments in the site.

The Southwest Metro Pickleball Club will start things up with its first annual club tournament on September 22 to September 23 at Westwood Park. Only members of the club are eligible to enter in the tournament, though non-members are still invited to sign-up. The competition is divided by age groups (12-49, 50-59, 60-79 and 70-79+) and skill levels (beginners, intermediate, advanced intermediate, advanced).

For more information on how to book a spot in the upcoming Southwest Metro Pickleball Club Tournament, please read the club’s official press release.
